Reports received from the leadership of the Ghana Medical Association (GMA) and some senior medical consultants across the country suggests that Ghana’s medical professionals are not happy and muttering about the apparent misbehaviour of the ruling government led by President NanaAddo in managing the coronavirus crisis.
Some of Ghana’s finest and talented medical professionals are sadly dying and those in service now are also worried that the government is not doing enough, but rather toying with the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ghana has lost some of the best medical brains and specialists consultants in the field of medicine through COVID-19 since March this year.
Meanwhile, the government’s strategy on fighting this crisis seem to be ineffective as the cases continues to rise.
Ghana’s current covid-19 cases is almost 22 000 per last monday’s figures released by the Ghana Health Service.

Similarly, the founder and president of mPedigree, Bright Simons, in has confirmed the sentiments and frustrations of our medical professionals in Ghana. Bright Simons’ mpedigree is a social enterprise which exposes counterfeit medicine in Africa. He also doubles as the vice president of IMANI Africa.
Revealing the doctor’s frustrations, Bright Simons said, “Some [doctors] are so furious they have vowed not to “go the extra mile” for any politician, especially now that borders are shut & few “can escape”. They insist that if politicians “don’t start showing seriousness” about fighting this pandemic, they will also “not push extra” for ANYONE.
Ghanaians are calling for leadership, but unfortunately it seems very impossible to achieve that level of leadership now, since most of the senior Cabinet members are either in isolation or have been secretly flown out of the country to seek medical attention.
Allegedly, President Akuffo Addo has been rumoured to be seeking medical attention in London, although, the official government statement remains that, he is resting at the presidential villa in Accra.
Just got briefed: Senior Ghanaian medical consultants are apparently furious with top politicians for “toying” with COVID-19, by promoting mass gatherings etc, and yet constantly calling them even when they miss a bowel movement whimpering about fears of infection.
