The former municipal chief executive of Techiman, Mr Philip Oppong Amponsah has advised President Akufo Addo to show commendation to the good works done by the former NDC administration in the assembly.
President Akufo Addo is on a three day visit to the Brong Ahafo region.

PRESIDENT AKUFFO ADDO SHOULD BE BOLD AND LOUD TO COMMEND FMR PREZ JOHN DRAMANI MAHAMA

As Techiman Municipal and Techiman North District await the visit of Nana Akuffo Addo to Techiman on Friday 18th May 2018, the Constituency Executive Committees of the NDC wish to entreat the Prez to boldly commend former Prez Mahama for the massive infrastructural development initiatives the two districts benefitted under the John Mahama led administration. Two of the massive projects credited to H.E John Dramani Mahama’s regime are the newly built ultra modern Administration Block for the District Assembly and the Divisional Police Headquarters for the Municipal Assembly. We understand that president Akuffo Addo, upon his visit, seeks to commission these projects completed in the NDC regime.
It is worth noting that, the very projects the president seeks to commission on Friday were not absolved from the many destructive criticism the NPP, then in opposition, used to defame the infrastructural development drive of the NDC government. The facts about the projects are as follows:
*TECHIMAN NORTH DISTRICT ADMINISTRATION BLOCK*
a) The contract was awarded to Marong Constructions in 2015 with funding from central government.
b) Actual construction on site began in February 2016.
c) Akuffo and Associates was the project consultant.
d) The duration for the completion of the project was ten(10) months which was duly executed.
*TECHIMAN MUNICIPAL POLICE DIVISIONAL HEADQUARTERS*
In February 2016, Urban Development Grant(UDG) secretariat gave approval for GHC1.8million for the construction of Women and Children Hospital and Divisional Police Headquarters. Techiman Municipal Assembly consequently opened tender for the two projects. After 75% completion, UDG secretariat approved another GHC1.5million to equip both projects and construction of three bedroom medical doctor’s bungalow which is now being occupied by the current MCE, Hon Kofi Donyina . The monies were deposited at Bank of Ghana in the name of TMA account.
The projects were therefore completed as at the time the NDC was leaving office in January 7, 2017. Prez Akuffo Addo should therefore not outwit the general public to believing that the new Administration Block and the Police Divisional Headquarters are his original development projects. We take this opportunity to also commend Hon Anthony Kwaku Manu, Hon Alex Kyeremeh, Hon Philip Oppong Amponsah and Hon Adjei Mensah for supervising such great initiatives under their tenure as MDCEs and MPs.
