Life has thought us that each person is a unique expression of God and each person is sacred, worthy important.
As such, no one should allow political and ideological differences to stop them from loving and trusting one another with faith even when they disagree in ideology.
At least, that is what members of the Parliamentary Christian Fellowship from both the new and old parliaments have demonstrated that indeed we are one people who can work together for our nation.
The event was a bible and governance conference, a Christian platform that seeks the interest of Christian politicians and the promotion of the kingdom of God.
The group does this by drawing the attention of Christian politicians to their core mandates and identities as believers.
It is also a platform where honest and hardworking Christian politician who have distinguished themselves for the work of God and country are rewarded.
The 2019 conference which was held at Parliament House’s Job 600 complex on March 7, was under the theme, “corruption is our demon which Christian must unite and support leaders to arrest”.
Present at the conference was Apostle Joseph Assabil, an Executive Council member of the Church Of Pentecost who represented the Chairman of the Church of Pentecost.
Other dignitaries who graced the conference were Rev Dr Abbeam Ampomah Danso, Counsellor of Abbeam University; Rev Dr Engineer Benjamin Ayikwei, Head Pastor of Trailblazers Christian Ministry; Hon Elizabeth K.T. Sackey, Deputy Greater Accra Regional Minister; Hon. Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah, MP for Ho West; Hon. Ahmed Ibrahim, MP for Banda; Hon Rev Helen Adjoa Ntoso, MP for Krachi West; Hon Rev John Ntim Fordjour; MP for Assin South, and many other members of parliament.
Hon. Elizabeth K.T. Sackey the Deputy Greater Accra Regional Minister informed participants of the conference that they could do politics without being corrupt.
She noted that generating bad news disgraces one’s faith, church and family members as well as other who respect you.
Hon. Elizabeth K.T. Sackey received the Most Distinguished Service Award in the second edition of the bible and governance conference.
The host pastor of the programme and the president of the Bible and Governance Ghana Rev. Jonathan Yaw Dokpah Blay who has been with the Parliamentary Christian Fellowship for the past 12 years congratulated Madam Hon. Elizabeth and other awardee for their service to mother Ghana and Christianity in Ghana.
He urged all Christian brothers and sisters in politics to emulate and take cue from the receipients by engaging in politics without insult and violence.
Other members who received the award include Hon. Ahmed Ibrahim, MP for Banda, Hon Rev Helen Adjoa Ntoso, MP for Krachi West, Hon. S.K. Boafo former Ashanti Regional Minister, Apostle Opoku Onyinah and Hon. Gbediame.
