The death is reported of Alhaji Abdulai Yakubu, the Paramount Chief of the Nyankpala Traditional Area in the Northern Region.
Sources say the late chief passed away at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital where he was receiving treatment for a short illness.
The chief championed improving standards in education and he recently appealed to the government and other relevant stakeholders in education to help with the needed educational infrastructure and other facilities in this regard
He has since been buried in accordance with the customs and traditions of the area, mynewsgh.com reports.
