Ghanamatters.com sources have received the shocking news of the death of Madam Louisa Nelson (44), the Women Organiser of the National Democratic Congress, (NDC) UK&Irelands Chapter.
Louisa Nelson has been the women’s organiser for the opposition NDC UK & Ireland’s chapter since 2014. She was re-elected in September 2018 for another four years until her untimely death.
A statement issued by the family said, the late Louisa Nelson died peacefully in the loving arms of her family and friends in the evening of Friday 26 April 2019.
Notable NDC party faithfuls have issued statements in her honour.
The National Women’s Organiser, Dr Hanna Bissiw paid a glowing tribute to the late Louisa Nelson, saying, “this is a great loss to the Party. On behalf of the women’s wing, I extend my deepest condolences to the family. May you be comforted by the outpouring of love surrounding you. May your heart and soul find peace and comfort. Fare thee well my Sister”.
A former vice chairman of the UK chapter and now member of parliament of Adaklu constituency, Mr Kwame Agbodza said, “Louisa was a remarkable person. The revival of what you see today as NDC UK started in her house at Stratford in 2005. A few of the youth regularly met in her house to discuss strategies towards that revival. The Youth of the Party in UK hosted many top officials of our great party in her house from 2005 till we won the elections in 2008. Her dedication to the interest of our party is not in doubt. Our party indeed has lost a great ‘soldier’ …Am truly devastated”.
She was survived by 2 daughters and 2 sons.
The family request to be given some privacy to grieve, the statement said.
