The District Office of the Ghana Education Service (GES) at Akyemansa has been closed since Monday morning by an the landlord of the property over non- payment of rent.
The move by the landlord has affected operations of the office and as mock examination papers which were supposed to be distributed also got locked up.
It is thought that, the office was however opened in the later part of the afternoon after some interventions.
The GES and GHS staff at the district still occupy rented offices due to inadequate space in the District Assembly’s administration block commissioned in 2016, eight years after the District was inaugurated, Starrfmonline reports.
When Contacted, the Akyemansa District Education Director Rosemond Antwi said the office was opened in the afternoon when she came in but declined comment on the debt.
The Akyemansa DCE, Paul Asamoah, was unavailable for comments as he refused to respond to a number of attempt via phone calls and text messages made to him.
