The Paramount Chief of Ogua Traditional Council, Osabarima Kwesi Atta II, says he is full of admiration for the Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, whom he said has demonstrated that he has the development of Ghana at the core of his heart.
Hon. Bagbin, Osabarima Amoako Atta II added, has so much passion for Ghana that all his doings have had positive impact on society.
“Because of the passion that Hon. Bagbin has for the country, it has made him achieve a lot”, he noted.
Osabarima Amoako Atta II, eulogized Hon. Bagbin when the latter paid a courtesy call on him at his residence in Cape Coast on Friday, November 10, 2018.
The Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament who is also the Member of Parliament for Nadowli/Kaleo had visited the Paramount Chief to pay a courtesy call and to seek permission from him to interact with delegates of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the region. Hon Bagbin also took advantage of the courtesy call to seek for his blessings and prayers
to enable him win the flagbearer position of the NDC.
During his visit, he told the Paramount Chief how the neglect of nananom in the country’s governance system was impacting negatively on development at the local level and how he intends to change that by ensuring that the traditional leaders play a pivotal role in the development of the country at the local level.
“I believe strongly that if we had given nananom a democratic space in the leadership of the country Ghana would have been a better place to live in”, he noted.
The Paramount Chief commenting further counselled Hon. Bagbin not to engage in politics of insults even though he said he has never heard him use any abusive language on his political opponents.
“I know you are a gentle person – you respect and you listen a lot. I don’t want to hear you say something or use abusive language on your opponents. I’ve not heard you do that and I don’t want you to do that. Be persuasive, say the truth, respect each other and let us be the judges at the end of the day”, he stressed.
