The former Municipal Chief Executive Officer for Ejisu Juabeng in the Ashanti Region, Mr Afrifa Yamoah Ponkoh has been invited by the Police to assist in an investigation into the shooting incident at the opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC) Regional office.
Mr Afrifa Yamoah Ponkoh has told the media that he personally witnessed the attack on Monday that led to the shooting and the death of a member of the NDC task force, while another is in critical condition, Kasapafmonline writes.
The Ashanti Regional Police Command has declared four persons alleged to be members of pro-NDC vigilante group “The Hawks” wanted over the shooting incident at the regional office of the NDC on Monday, 18 February 2019.
The Police revealed that the suspects are Warrior, Damous, Migyima and Abu Taliban.
The shooting incident happened during a meeting which was being chaired by the General Secretary of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, at the party’s Ashanti regional office in Kumasi Monday.
The meeting was to address some misunderstanding between the regional chairman of the party Nana Kwasi and a key member Joseph Yamin.
The confusion erupted after both men came along with their vigilante groups who started shoving each other.
