The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Afro-Arab Group of Companies, Alhaji Salamu Amadu, last Saturday feted over 1,000 head porters (Kayayei) and street children at the forecourt of his company in Kokomlemle in Accra.
The party organised by the Afro-Arab Group of Companies was in collaboration with the Hope for Street Foundation and Islamic Ummah Relief was themed; Giving Hope to All.
According to Alhaji Amadu, a Board Member of the Ghana Gulf Chamber of Commerce said the party which is an annual event is held to reassure the head porters and street children that they have not been neglected by society.
Ghanaian comedians Benson Nana Yaw Oduro Boateng, popularly known as Funny Face and Joe Shortingo were on hand to entertain the guests at the party.
Funny Face who was greeted with wild cheers of “Children’s President” when he made his appearance at the party lauded Alhaji Amadu for organising the party, describing the businessman as the “Children’s Chairman”.
Alhaji Salamu Amadu is an entrepreneur with over a decade of experience in business dealings such in financial services, forex transaction, transportation, haulage, construction and real estate development.
He is also currently constructing an astroturf stadium in Kokomlemle to provide decent sports infrastructure for residents.
