The Electoral Commission (EC) office in Accra has been razed by fire over reports minors in the recent voters registration exercise during the early hours of today, 14th August 2020.
Reports say the fire personnel who attended to the scene had a hectic time before subduing the fire under control.
According to a statement from the Ghana Police Service, four fire tenders were dispatched from Amasaman, Kotoku, Nsawam, and Abelemkpe onto the scene to quench the fire and provide security.
Initial reports indicates that some ballot boxes and official documents have been destroyed by the fire. The Electoral Commission is yet to issue an official statement to highlight the extent of the damage.
