The Minister of Health, Kwaku Agyemang Manu has indicated the University of Ghana Medical Centre will become operational by close of the year.
The Nana Addo administration has received criticisms over delays in making the medical facility operational since taking over the as a government.
However, after many months of inconsistencies in government’s policies on the health facility, the health centre was partially opened July 2018 for specialized outpatients services.
Mr Kwaku Agyemang Manu at an event in Accra said, work is ongoing to make the hospital fully operation.
“Where we are now some actions have been taken and certain services though limited are being provided in the facility. By the close of the year will see close to a hundred per cent operationalization of the entire facility. And I believe that when that happens all of us will benefit like it’s anticipated that it’s good for all of us. We’ll not let it sit there idling, we’ll work hard to make sure that the nation gets the best out of that facility.”
