Hip-life legend Kwabena Okyere Darko, known in showbiz as Obrafour, has released a new single titled ‘Moesha’, which features Sarkodie.
According to him, since the song hit the market, some observers have linked it to Ghanaian actress Moesha Boduong, especially as it comes in the wake of the controversy the actress got herself into following her interview with CNN’s Amanpour.
Moesha Boduong had told CNN’s “Sex and Love Around the World” programme that Ghanaian women sleep with men to survive due to economic difficulties. Her comment attracted a lot of flak from the public.
Speaking on Accra-based Zylofon FM on Friday, 18 May 2018, Obrafour said the song was recorded before the Moesha incident. “It is a love song and it’s very good, it carries the story we want it to carry,” he noted.
“I did a song that I titled ‘Kwame Nkrumah’ and nobody asked me any question. So, I don’t know why people are asking about Moesha,” the multiple award-winning artiste said.
The ‘Pae Mu Ka’ hit-maker further explained that: “We live in a world where names and words are not peculiar to particular people or one particular person. I find it difficult when you ask me, ‘why Moesha’?”
The song was officially released on Friday, 18 May 2018.
