Two men said to be National Security operatives were on Saturday arrested at East Legon after robbing a man of GH¢5,650, money he had withdrawn from an Automated Teller Machine (ATM).
According to a situational report sighted by 3news.com, a police officer was also arrested in the robbery-gone-wrong.
They drove him to East Airport and pushed him out of the car after taking the money from him.
But Emmanuel David followed them, unknowingly, in a taxi and raised an alarm upon seeing a police vehicle.
The vehicle, in which was COP Rev. David Nenyi Ampah-Bennin, trailed the Toyota Corolla and arrested the men.
One managed to escape.
A pistol was retrieved from Nathaniel Akomeah, the police officer.
The claimed National Security operatives are Francis Amoako and Richard Boateng.
The cash has since been retrieved.
