Fritz Baffour, who was recently outdoored as the campaign and communications director for Team Bagbin says he’s more comfortable working for the flagbearer hopeful Alban Sumani Alban than Dr. Ekow Spio Garbrah who is also an aspirant.
According to the former Ablekuma South Member of Parliament, although he has blood relations with Spio Garbrah, his ideologies and way of politics is not in consonance with that of Spio hence his decision to join Team Bagbin.
“I worked with him for eight years in parliament and it is very easy working for him. We have a very good working relationship and he belongs to that tradition in the NDC that I belong to ….that we had a lot to do for the man on the street, the vulnerable, the voiceless” he said on Accra based Citi Fm.
He added that “Spio is there, Spio is a relative of mine, the others were there but I felt more comfortable with Alban because I’ve some working relation with him. Spio is a blood relation but am not negating his chances, I admire him, we are very close but I was looking at my contribution. I wanted to work for someone who is responsive to what I felt”.
Mr. Baffour is expected to marshal all his communications skills and other relevant skills to help the longest serving member of parliament cling onto the flagbearership position come December 2018.
Alban Bagbin will have to beat competition from former president John Mahama, former National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) boss, Sylvester Mensah, former Trade minister Ekow Spio Garbrah and nine other aspirants who have declared their intention to contest the position.
