Carlos Ahenkorah, MP and a deputy minister of trade and industry, has resigned from his position with immediate effect.
Mr Ahenkorah broke Covid-19 protocols by admitting testing positive for the virus and going out to monitor the ongoing voter registration exercise in his constituency.
In his defence, he said he did not pose any harm to people who were present there since he was asymptomatic.
However, president Akuffo Addo has accepted his resignation, a statement from flagstaff house has said.
OccupyGhana and other pressure groups have called for his arrest and prosecution.
Will the New Patriotic Party heed to the many calls to disown Carlos Ahenkorah?
